2CC | A slightly smaller version of the 2.5CC giving a mouthpiece, which is slightly easier to handle, producing a warm tone, which blends very well. It has the same cup diameter as a 2L, but with a deeper cup, giving a rich, organ-like sound. The gold rim aids flexibility and has a warmer feel than silver. Cup diameter: 32.0mm. Rim width: 7mm. Throat: 8.45mm. Backbore: V-Type. Large shank. |
2XL | Like the 2L but with a wider rim for added endurance. Cup diameter: 32.5mm. Rim width: 8.3mm. Throat: 8.45mm. Backbore: Open. Large shank. |
3CC | A smaller version of the 2.5CC, giving a mouthpiece which is slightly easier to handle, producing a warm tone, which blends very well. Very easy to play, and ideal for players who prefer a smaller cup diameter. Cup diameter: 31.55mm. Rim width: 7mm. Throat: 8.78mm. Backbore: V-Type. Large shank. |
3XL | Like the 3L but with a wider rim for additional comfort and endurance. Cup diameter: 31.5mm. Rim width: 8.9mm. Throat: 8.78mm. Backbore: Large barrel. Large shank. |

2L | Deep, funneled Helleberg-type cup gives rich, even sound with great flexibility. High register is well-centered and in tune. Cup diameter: 32.00mm. Rim width: 7.7mm. Throat: 8.45mm. Backbore: Open. Large shank. |
2SL | German-style cup with tight throat and massive backbore results in huge projection. Ideal for large F, Eâ™, and 4/4C tubas. Cup diameter: 32.5mm. Rim width: 8.3mm. Throat: 7.6mm. Backbore: Open. Large shank. |
3SL | Bright-toned mouthpiece idea for F tuba with beautiful projection and solid low notes. Cup diameter: 31.5mm. Rim width: 8mm. Throat: 7.62mm. Backbore: Small. Large shank. |
3L | Our most popular orchestral model, this has a rounded cup, huge throat and backbore and makes a rich organ-like sound. It seems to suffer fewer intonation problems than the VB 24AW, although strong chops are needed to maintain the pitch in very top register, as the throat is so huge. Massive low register – this transforms the sound of E flat tubas into a really full-toned orchestral instrument. Also a great band mouthpiece, as it makes a very ‘blending’ luxuriant sound. Excellent feeling of security with a well-defined inner edge to the rim. The gold plating of the rim and cup gives a luxurious look and more importantly, a great feel when playing, with the extra thick gold-plating giving superb flexibility. Cup diameter: 31.5mm. Rim width: 8mm. Throat: 8.78mm. Backbore: Large barrel. Large shank. |
1L |
Full, rich sound with great low register resonance. Cup diameter: 32.75mm. Rim width: 7.35mm. Throat: 8.43mm. Backbore: Open. Large shank. |
