Saxophone, Clarinet and Flute Instructor – Fabian Lim

A versatile and adaptable multi-reed musician, Fabian performs in many music genres, from musical theatre to jazz and classical. He has performed and recorded for local and international artists like David Foster, Incognito, Jam Hsiao, Kit Chan, Stephanie Sun, Eric Moo, J.J. Lin, Joanna Dong, Elva Hsiao, Olivia Ong, Chyi Yu, Wan Fang, Jeff Chang, Sandy Lam, A-Mei, Sky Wu, Joanna Wang, Soda Green, Dick Lee, Jeremy Monteiro, the late Iskandar Ismail, 五条人, among many others. In Asia's Got Talent 2017, Fabian performed with David Foster, playing the iconic saxophone solo for Love Theme from St. Elmo's Fire. In addition, he played the saxophone, flute, and clarinet in theatre productions like Disney's Aladdin, West End-casted The Addams Family, Singing in the Rain, and is frequently involved in local theatre productions by Dream Academy, Pangdemonium, and W!ldRice.

Fabian has performed at the Mosaic, SingJazz, Batam, and Java Jazz (Jakarta) festivals; at the SummerSonic (Tokyo), Jarasum, and Zandari Music Festivals (Korea), Brisbane Arts Festival, and the Shanghai Jz Music Festival. He opened for the SEA Games 2015 with the Steve McQueens; for Incognito at The Indigo in the O2 (London), and performed with them in Singapore and Bintan, Indonesia. Fabian's saxophone were in National Day Parades and MediaCorp radio jingles. Eric Khoo's film, Tatsumi and In the Room features Fabian's clarinet and flute; and saxophone in 2019 Wawa movie release When Ghost Meets Zombie (女鬼爱上尸).

Fabian is a trained and experienced music educator. He conducts school bands and woodwind tutoring for children and adults. He recently mentored youth saxophonists in the Singapore Street Festival and Chingay parades. An alumnus from Berklee College of Music, and the National Institute of Education, Fabian is a doctoral candidate at Boston University in music education.
