Our remarkable Piccolo PFP-105 was the culmination of years of exploration and research into the creation of a truly revolutionary material Grenaditte. Precise pitch, an exquisite tone, and a spacious dynamic range are all to be found within this truly innovative instrument. Grenaditte echoes all the positive qualities of wood in appearance, weight, density, and feel. Unlike wood, Grenaditte is impervious to shock, temperature, and moisture fluctuation. Since its launch in 2006, esteemed professional players and music industry experts the world over have greeted the Pearl Piccolo as a phenomenon.
Pearl researched into the creation of a totally new material – Grenaditte. With a warm, wood-like sound, Grenaditte is impervious to temperature and humidity fluctuations and ensures a remarkable Pearl-grade performance anywhere.
Both PFP-105 and P-165 are available in high wave and standard type. The High wave type delivers excellent high-end projection, capturing the true essence of a piccolo. The Standard type features a rich midrange, offering ease of control and a smooth, comfortable tone. Both options are available in either wood (Grenadilla) or Grenaditte materials.
The point arm not only adds stunning looks but also enhances stability - by allowing the cup to be securely held from the center, reducing the chance of keypad warping.
The advantage of Omnipads compared to regular fish skin pads is that they are impervious to moisture. These durable synthetic pads also produce a rich sound.
The 105 & 165 series piccolos are available with either Omnipads or traditional fish skin pads.
Pinless Construction
The foundation of every Pearl flute is a patented Pinless construction, which eliminates the problems of traditional flute construction - protruding needles that snag clothing and give easy entry to perspiration and body acids causing corrosion and binding keys. Besides this unique pinless construction, Pearl flute have additional bridge mechanisms that add strength to the entire mechanism. Plus, socket-head screws are inserted from the underside of the key work, preventing the entry of perspiration into the mechanism.
(The piccolo does not have Pearl Flute’s unique one-piece core bar mechanism; it is equipped only with the pinless mechanism.)
